She was born in an insane asylum and sent to live with a foster father, a doctor Yamamura. She was raised well, but her father always knew she was different. Once when she was little her class went out on a trip to the ocean. Her teachers tried to get her to go into the water, but Sadako simply said that if they went in the water they would all die... that day every member of her class died in the water, not by drowning but by spontaneous heart attacks. Her father found it necessary after that to move. Sadako started her new life in Jr. High by joining the drama club. She got an understudy roll for the lead and fell in love with the tech producer and wanted more than anything to get on stage to impress him... soon the lead of the play started seeing terrible visions and blamed them all on Sadako. That was enough to attract local news reporters to find out more about the demon child. A few days before the play, the lead died a sudden death. Everyone knew that Sadako's powers had done this, but Sadako was completely unaware of what she was doing. Soon a witch hunt started and Sadako was killed, awakening the dark spirit Sadako was born with... Dark Sadako. Knowing it was the only way to save everyone, Dr. Yamamura stabbed his daughter and threw her down a well... but while Sadako's body died, her dark spirit lived on, leaving behind a cursed tape that contained a fragment of her spirit, allowing her to continue killing the living.
