history: Sephiroth was made from the same jenova material that Kadaj and the other advents were made from, but didn't know it for a long time and worked with the government thinking he was just an ordinary gifted... but when he found out the truth he lost his mind and killed all of the people in that area of the lab. He also showed Cloud that he too had Jenova cells in him and killed the woman Cloud loved. In his fury, Cloud "killed" sephiroth, but the Jenova cells in Sephiroth have kept him alive, just unstable, his spirit wandering the life stream, looking for a body.
