history: Amaterasu was born from the left eye of the Japanese hero Izanagi. She lived on the celestial plane most of her life, with the other gods and goddesses, until one day, when a tribe of celestials who lived on the moon sent an arc over to the celestial plane as a "offering to the gods". However, when the arc opened, thousands of monsters and demons poured out of it, and began attacking the people on the celestial plane. Believing that the arc had been emptied of all of the monsters, some of the celestials climbed on board it, in an attempt to escape death. However, many demons had hidden themselves in the lower levels of the arc, and when it started to move again, they came forth, and killed everyone in the arc, sending it plummeting to earth. When Amaterasu saw what had happened, she rushed to earth to try to stop the demons from attacking the humans on earth, but ended up without a way home.
